Heh. Tina's not used to dealing with kids. Not that it would help in this case.

She's doing a decent job, though.

Tina did a really good job of defusing.....whatever it was Castela was changing into.

And yeah, they're vegetables - every Thanksgiving somebody fixes a big casserole of sweet potatoes and marshmallows......

Marshmallows and root beer aren't supposed it be in the healthy food group of fruits & vegetables, so Tina has given the devil-child a new excuse to torture Kath with, and Tina may even realize this.

EDIT: Yes, I think Whitewing pulled an angelic save, but that doesn't mean Castela couldn't turn it into a bit of deviltry herself.

Why, of course. Everybody knows that a really nourishing "salad" must include orange jello and marshmallows!

The kid is really very good at verbal jujitsu... turning Tina's disarming comment back on itself, and transmogrifying it into an excuse to eat her favorite sorta-candy. I'd say "She's too skilled at that to be as young as she looks", but I know that youngsters are supremely skilled at this sort of inspired loophole-jumping.

And Tina makes another save, pulling Castela back from the edge of the abyss!

Castela shares quick thinking with every other five-year-old I have ever known. When there's something they want, they can think very fast and use the most wonderful logic.

And Hibiscus.
Also Durian, the only fruit banned from airlines by international regulations.

Smores!

Dealing with Castella is a bit like explaining jokes to a kleptomaniac: they take everything literally!

Nice way to put the pin back into the grenade. It may only be a stopgap measure but it worked. I feel for Kath having to explain that just because something is made from plants does not make it a vegetable since the Marshmallow that is a candy today is not the same as the one from ancient times, that is gonna be a different thing altogether (Maybe Tantas Phix or Nudge could help)

Chocolate is also a vegetable. Chocolate comes from Cocoa Beans. Beans a legume. Legumes are vegetables. So chocolate is a vegetable! When ever I explain this to women they always agree with me. So we can add both marshmallows and chocolate as side dishes. I can see it now a celery-chocolate-marshmallow salad.

Donate my "Eat Healthy" diet guide book to the jar. I obviously won't be needing it anymore.
