Of course she is happy. Nobody ever suspects the butterfly.

Somebody proposed she's like a dryad for castela trees. That sounds reasonable.

The Dyad idea might be close to what she is. This is what Paul has told us on Facebook:
From that I would guess that she is a wholly original creation. The best that i can describe her species is that she is a plant/animal hybrid.

"You might wake up some morning, to the sound of someone passing by your window in the dawn.
And if the sleep has left your ears you may hear footsteps followed close by heavy breathing.
Don't be concerned. It will not harm you. It's only me pursuing something I'm not sure of.
Across my dreams, with nets of wonder, I chase the bright elusive butterflies of Wapsi Square."

I am both incredibly happy and incredibly frustrated by today's page (I'm impatient for story...so sue me). I do wonder if it's images of her past, or is this the present Castela we're seeing now that she's effectively been adopted?

This picture warms my heart...
As the grandfather of two little girls, one six years old and the other just a year and a half, I have seen this exact expression numerous times. Wonder at the world, joy in just being alive - these are simple and yet profound emotions that adults too often take for granted, instead of seeing them as the gifts they are. They are gifts given most generously to the young...
Thank you, Paul - you have made my day!

No judgment here!!! We're just wondering what she is!!! I was just attempting to help coin a phrase. As humans we have "ethnicity" to describe out forebearers... it follows that a mythical creature would have Mythnicity to describe theirs!Jabberwonky wrote:Oh, come on. Since this is the Wapsiverse, what are the chances that the Butterflies are more dangerous than Castela?

If Chaos Theory is correct, then they're guaranteed to be more dangerous. Fortunately, the opposite can also be true.ziggy78eog wrote:Since this is the Wapsiverse, what are the chances that the Butterflies are more dangerous than Castela?
