Could be a wing, could be a branch with leaves. Looks a bit like a very large fern, or similar. They can often be found near ponds. Give that the greenery is impresionistic it is up to the reader to decide for themselves.

I'll go with a plant. it's saying leaf them alone.

Deposits a fine furry fern into the pun jar.
Either a fern, or a mimosa tree.

I like her camping cup. Those enamel camping dishes are a common part of our everyday tableware around here. There's a lot of camping out at the important pow-wows and tribal gatherings.

Odd how she's always in human form. But then I believe she did say Sirens tended to be a sedentary lot. I guess that's why she reads about human adventures and fully plays the part as she enacts human stories. Siren adventures probably mostly tell of shipwrecks and fish eating. Though modern Sirens might just concentrate on the fish eating. Oh, and sunning on rocks. The mythical monsters in Wapsi world tend to be reformed with regards to their former murderous ways. That's One of the greatest things about the series.

Yeah, well, "He's not a tame lion" is an important mantra when dealing with denizens of the Wapsiverse.

Or remember Siegfried & Roy's tiger.

Also, you should not forget to consider Clouseau's Mistake.

When I am occupied outside, and a frog comes along and examines my reading material, most of them claim "Read it!"

Looks like a wing to me. Atsali wasn't always an orphan. Probably momma. It's probable [in a Wapsiverse] that all flying sirens are female, just as the full-on sphinxes are.

Did not even need to click to guess what.

(Though i did, to confirm)

Even though "Clouseau's Mistake" is hardly a definitive term identifying one particular occassion.
