Can fish vomit? My son is lactose intolerant, and that's what milk does to him...

I think he might be worse off being taken out of the water.

Let's just consider it a Noodle Incident and hope that backstory is never drawn.

Hey, her teeth look normal, confirming my theory that it was more of a metaphor than a real detail.

Well, so this is the famous Forum, erm, and this is the famous Katherine. And the famous Oscar, who is not an Oscar, but a Beta, but might win one. An Oscar, not a Beta.

And yay! for Fora. Double yay!! for Katherine. So good to see her back, though Oscar seems to be imperiled.

One does pull for Kath feeling better about herself, but she does seem so dependent on her pet's approval, that her efforts risk embarrassment through farce and tragedy.

She seems able to leave Oscar at home for a day at work or the conservatory, so this must be about another shaky stab at finding summer romance. It's like she knows she needs a wingman, but doesn't know anyone who or how to approach besides her betta, who can't refuse her or run away like other characters' pets.

As sweet as Kath always seems to be, her pinboard of spiders, some still living, is always in the back of my mind.

Poor thing! I want to give both of them hugs(Yes, I know giving a fish hugs is not quite possible, but still...).
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Someone posted somewhere (could have been over at FB) that while allergies can kill you, intolerance only causes discomfort. I'm not gluten-intolerant, but I know a number of celiacs (or cœliacs, if you're from "over there") who have come close to death because of undiagnosed intolerance. It can be terribly dangerous, so Katherine is wise to call for help!

Though if you think about it, every fish is lactose intolerant... I don't know many fish that could survive in an aquarium of milk...

Oh my!

:)

As for Oscar's "situation"...well, if my husband's lactose intolerance is anything to go by, he'll be unpleasant company for our dear Katherine if she doesn't get him some not-milky water...STAT! :D

CAREFULL ! Tap water has chlorine and bottled water has no oxygen.

It's bad enough to have to shout desperately for water.

It's even worse when you have to shout desperately for water which won't rapidly kill your fish (chlorine and chloramine being really bad for them, so tap water is probably out of the question). These days, only bottled spring water is likely to do.

Considering her huge pupils, look of horror, and loud shout for help, I'd say it was eye-screamed fish.
