I do believe we may have found the final key in our problems with the Lanthian/Etetheitians.

I am a bad person, the first word that popped in my head was "seersure" (If I'm right about the above post, any hypothetical cookie I get goes straight to the pun jar)

This might be another reason why Berdine is protective of Nadette. A seer who reacts to visions of past events in the first person, not as herself but *as* a person from that event, is possibly a danger to herself and/or others.

I actually pointed out the when Nadette was identified as a seer that Berdine was probably her protector and guide. Seers are almost always accompanied by a protector and guide to keep them safe from others, and themselves. Who better than a twin sister? We have also seen that protectiveness from Berdine as well.

But I do see one major difference between the two "readings" we have now seen: when she was reading Cricket, she was an outside observer. The whole thing came to her at once, she was mesmerized by it, and could not contain it, she had to spill it all out. But she was still outside of it. (You did this, you did that, they did that to you, etc.)

This time, on the other hand, she is participating. She not only sees, but seems to believe herself to be a participant, to the point of asking Atsali "Can't you hear the city alarm?" The rest of that speech bubble is very telling, too. She is verbally repeating ancient history, but in an inclusive manner: not "they tried to warn", but "we tried to warn"... She is consciously talking to Atsali, but as if they were both in the events which she was reading.

To be honest, I don't think she has ever experienced something like this, before. The panic is evident and quite real.

Yes, but who is she channeling? We saw that Acacia and Brandi were the only two present in the crystal chamber... were they the only two in on the plan to crystalize the entire ethetian race? Were they the only ones with proof positive knowledge that putting the grid in place would cause the world to go all blooey? If so then Nadette is channeling either Acacia or Science Director Brandilyn...

As I understand it, this area/structure (for want of a better word) is below the place that had the control room Accia & Brandilyn were in, controlling the placement of the Ethetians into the crystals.

Maybe I jumped to conclusion and what the Ethetians thought were stasis chambers were infact the Nu Gui's crystal traps?

And if volcanoes were going off everywhere, it would be silly to get into a stasis chamber that was in danger of being covered in lava. Even if it survived intact *and* kept working, you'd be frozen in time in a place no-one would find you.

From what I remember without an archive dive, the crystal-storage system was supposed to be the Ethetian civilization's "life boat", to be used in case of disaster. Brandi and Acacia were in charge of managing it, storing the Ethetians safely in stasis for a few centuries (until the envionment stabilized again) and then recalling the "suspended" Ethetians to life. I think "stasis chamber" simply means "entry chamber to the crystal storage system".

The Nu Gui disrupted this plan in several ways. IIRC it made sure that the World Grid installation did trigger volcanos sufficient to panic the Ethetians into fleeing into stasis. It hacked the stasis system to leave the Ethetians conscious and aware, so they'd go mad in isolation. It took control of Brandi at a crucial moment and put Acacia into stasis as well, so that Acacia wouldn't realize something was amiss and intervene. And, it "retrieved" all of the pregnant Ethetian women from stasis in an act of mass murder.

Nadette seems to be having The Mother Of All Bad Acid Trip Flashbacks right now. The haunted-house psychometry-memory-in-the-walls effect is overwhelming this young Seer, and she is "reliving" the experiences of the Ethetians fleeing the volcano to "safety" in the crystal stasis system.

Could all this mean there are more stasis chambers? Obviously the entire complex wasn't destroyed by the lava, though I'm not sure how that could occur since the lava should have come up through any lower chambers. Chambers with still in-tact filled crystals? More importantly filled with people who have been unconscious all this time, therefore sane. As much as that definition can fit the Etheitians. Perhaps something set up by the good side of Brandi. Something the Nu Gui may have thought were just spares or were not even known to her/it. Good Brandi's counter-plan may still be unfolding. Director Oduya may have been the Chess Master, but Brandi was/is the Chess Goddess.

If all that's correct, those in the crystals could be some of the few (and their families maybe) who were opposed to using Golems and were trying to stop it. The dialog indicates they were trying to stop something. Some of the clearer thinking Etheitians, perhaps. They may also have vital information for Atsali and company.

Nadette is seeing this as the people who experienced it saw it, Atsali knows this is just a recording, a very realistic and immersive recording, but not-real-time. Or to put it another way Atsali has already experienced this and knows it to be in the distant past. Far, far, far distant past for a teen-ager.

A few years ago my wife and I went on a photo-safari vacation to Africa. While in Tanzania, after leaving Lake Manyara, we traveled through some heavily-forested land along the side of the Great Rift Valley. At one point, a family of forest elephants appeared on the road ahead of us. We stopped... they came towards us, looked us over, then moved off the road and began to pass on either side of us, out of sight.



A couple of minutes later, while we listened to them pass, a mother elephant decided that we were too close to her baby (I think that's the two of them at the center of the photo), and trumpeted a warning at us... from maybe 15 feet away. We couldn't see her, but at that point we knew for sure that she was there!

current theory is that the crystal complex that Thup caused to be destroyed BY the meltdown had various devices in it to prevent the emission of said emergency beacons... and ANY OTHER electromagnetic fields as well... when the complex was destroyed, that also destroyed those devices, therefore the signals can get thru now. HOWEVER... don't forget that Thup did NOT EXPECT TO BE CAPTURE by a team-up of Bud and Katherine (and the *other* four women from the prophesy)... she/it fully expected to STILL be in control of Brandi, and therefore she/it WOULD have a plan for this eventuality... the reason WE (and the current comic staff) are even AWARE of this signal, is because Thup is NOT there with her plans to prevent it, or to spin the data to something that was even worse. i would imagine that there will be other things like this popping up in the future where plans that Thup made are falling apart because she is no longer there to *correct* things and get them BACK on track... and Brandi isn't even AWARE of those plans to do anything about them even if she wanted to!

i have no explanation for the Radiation, and or apparent LACK of same... then again, they may be getting massive amounts of it right now, as we speak and DON'T KNOW IT!!, that also being one of the reasons that MIB DIDN'T want her going there... at least until they could assess the counts to see if it was safe enough for her to go in under escort...
