It's funny... even with all of her inherited Blackthorn wisdom, she still gets completely knotted up about her own relationships.

Maybe that's a blind spot in what she inherited. After all, plants like the Blackthorn don't really have an equivalent to a mammal's dating and mating practices... they just pollinate.
