I just finished re-re-re-reading Larry Niven's Lucifer's Hammer.

When the Civilization ending asteroid strikes the Earth, we'll need a few of those machines in the aftermath...

btw- that was beautiful.

Love that book. I don't know why it wasn't ever picked up as a mini-series or sommat...

Impressive! But what I liked best was watching the guy jamming to the music while he cranked. :D
