Where We Are...

A schematic map of today's Internet.

I'm trying to figure out precisely where "wapsisquare.com" and "forum.wapsisquare.com" lie. Clearly, both are in the territories surrounding the Sea of Art. But, there's some distance between Webcomics, and Fanart Center, and there's clearly lots of traffic down to DeviantArt.

Wapsi Square is, as of right now, ranked 322,585 in the world among websites. Unfortunately, traffic has been dropping because of... well, you know.

The site is ranked 84,528th in the US.

I'm amused that many sites are nations unto themselves, but also cities within other nations.

Before I clicked on the link I expected 98% of the landmasses to be labeled "Pr0n".

Oh, surely not.

Once you subtract out the major continents of Kittyvideo and FlamingIdiocy, there wouldn't be more than 55% left for Pr0n to colonize.

Of course not.

That's more like the intangible yet omnipresent aether.

It's similar in its all-pervasiveness to the online version of phlogiston, which is responsible for the unusual ease with which flaming starts.
