Some years ago there was a riot in an Ohio (?) shopping mall, where several dozen teens and twenty somethings collectively ransacked the place. Some newsy opinionator let forth on the anarchy that day. Another columnist replied along the following lines:

Qualified Immunity is a creation of the Judicial system, not any Legislature, and is amorphous. It needs to replaced by something like the Military Rules of Engagement, and enforced. Likewise, Civil Forfeiture is an abomination to the 4th Amendment and needs to be repealed. It's application turns the Police into Pirates. These two things alone will hugely affect and improve policing and the public perception of policing.

P.S. - For those not familiar with Natural Law concepts, the Law of Conquest can be summarized as "A man can have what a man can take. A man can hold what a man can keep." Another is the Law of Harvest - "You want to eat this fall, you plan in the spring." Last minute cramming for a test violates the Law of Harvest. I forget which Greek (?) philosopher summarized that to improve society we need to learn and respect Natural Law, and live by it's edicts.

(My wife has a friend who is in a somewhat similar circumstance... her guy's wife took off long ago, location unknown, and they're in a jurisdiction in which is difficult and very expensive to achieve the sort of proof-of-abandonment that could declare the old marriage null and void. Very sucky situation.)

Since you want a kicky musical theme for all of this... I have an idea.

In addition to hiring the Beef necessary to serve the divorce papers (Sheriff's deputy? 7'-tall professional process server?), consider hiring and sending among a proper barbershop quartet or a good doo-wop trio. Have them do a suitable a capella improvisation of the themes of the day, once Mr. Ex has heard the magic words "You have been served":

"You're so busted...
You're kicked to the curb...
ba ba ba ba
Last week's news...
You thought you could hide but we've got you now got you now got you now ..."

and then post the video on social media.

Whelp, the only limitations regarding the server is he/she cannot be related to the served, I figure I would fulfill that role. Richard (the miscreant's name) and I have had an... encounter... before, so I am no anticipating any trouble. At most I might request a civil standby, which I am not obliged to pay for... said deputy will aso serve as a witness.

Regarding the music- naw, that would be pushing it. They've been separated for over 14 years. I've raised his sons, they call me 'Dad'. Neither one is impressed with the man. I honestly did nothing to influence their decision in this matter. I just want this done and over... and I want the COVID hysteria gone so I can have a wedding.
