While I'm godawful at digital coloring, this image of Monica just screamed "Print it and break out your crayons!" :)

If I like how it looks when I'm done, I'll scan it and share...assuming I can find crayons that match her skin-tone and hair color to my satisfaction. :P

I hope that you'll share it with us...

Just a quickie...I love Nudge's look today

Good job, Jabberwonky! Your quick ones are great too.

LOL...I've got a 120 count box and a 32 count box, and there's little to no overlap between the two. :P

Julie, if you use a program like the GIMP you can use the magic wand tool to select and erase the gray shades in Nudge's dress leaving only the black lines to color in.

Thanks, but I don't have any fancy image editing tools. I've only got Paint, and honestly, it's all I need considering how little I dabble with digital art. :) Like I said...I'll be using old fashioned methods to color my picture. :) And I'm coloring Monica...not Nudge (Jabber already knocked the Nudge coloring job well and truly out of the park).

This all brings back an episode from preschool. I can't remember what the picture was but we were each coloring it in with crayons. The teacher took mine and asked why I didn't fill in a certain portion. I told her I did with the white crayon and if she held it up to the light she would be able to see the shine off of it. :D

All this talk of crayons reminds me of the story about Black Crayons.

What is truly funny (or horrifying) is that my mother had similar discussions with the school psychologist about me, and that was in the 70's. Do the Psyc books ever change??

Lest we forget:
Purple indicates (child) abuse.
Yellow indicates latent schizophrenia (see purple).
Green indicates delusions/protective withdrawl (see purple).
Blue indicates escapism (see purple).
Red indicates suppressed anger (see purple).
Etc...

And my favorite (also from the 70s): Combing/slicking back your hair, smoking Kools, and drinking grape soda indicates drug abuse.

Oh - and since we're obliquely dealing with 70s psychobable, I remember a lovely college discussion about how ideas can make the world better, if we Only Believe! (tm) My response went something like this:
For those who think that a good idea and sitting around the campfire singing Kumbayah will solve the world's problems, I've got some news for you. You're all going to starve unless somebody gets off their duff, finds food, and feeds you. Note that in step two of that process, the Little Red Hen story is in effect, so you better be damn sure the hen has a good reason to feed you. Or, better yet, feed yourself. In any case, however good your idea is, it's life is limited until somebody is willing to cross your palm with silver.
Thus ended my popularity among would-be socialists. I was very much relieved.

I like your take on Shelly's hair, and the depiction of Tepoz and "Various and sundry Wapsi character..."

It may not quite quench our thirst, in light of today's missing comic, but it's a start... :D

Prolly not--and they don't dare talk to the child in question, lest they irreparably damage their tender little psyches. So the causes of the problem--not enough colors, or even always going in alphabetical order--are impossible to discover.

No, I am not happy with Lily's skin tone but I am limiting myself to a realistic NES color palette. That off yellow makes her look jaundiced and that pink makes her look alien.

Very Snazzy!

And I did choose that color specifically because it made her look "wrong." Looking forward to seeing it finished!
