Thanks for the suggestions guys but none of them has the control placement that I fell in love with. If I ever get off my lazy butt I may take the guts out of an optical trackball and see if I can stuff them into one of my old Microsoft ones . If that doesn't work I've considered using them to make a mold and cast a new body made out of resin. Maybe silicone would be even better so it would be soft to the touch. Now what kind of objects could I make out of silicone for practice... ;)

Are you sure this won't hit the spot?

(I had originally began working up this whole thing about retrofitting the guts of an Optical Mouse into your existing rig, but an incoming call deleted all that...

Not sure if you ever found your optical trackball mouse, but I found this design that might fit your bill:
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

Wow...They're just giving those things away, ain't they? And there was a moose on the 'Customer who looked at that also looked at this' for $650...American dollars...

I'd have to be pretty effin' dedicated to what I was doing to pay that much for a mouse...

I refrain from using this term regarding human beings, but I had a Huawei Android that "retard-phone" was the most complimentary term it heard.

Long post regarding dumb phones and dumber tech support ahead...

I had tech support for a popular internet company on the line recently. It was a very ingratiatingly stupid female tech that gives us nerdy women the bad rep. In addition, she kept calling me, "sug, sweetie, honey" after requesting and getting permission to use my Christian name.
She kept tellng me I needed to check it out on my smart phone(despite knowing already that I was calling from my cellular device). I told her "Look, honey, I in fact, can not do so", and she called me rude and inflammatory, and threatening. I then asked for a supervisor, and requested he listen to the call and contact me.

He laughed, and asked me my problem.

My response:
"First, she used everything but my name.
Second, she knew I was on my cell.
Third, if a person says they cannot use the internet on a cell, it usually means it isn't an option, that in fact, they have a very dumb phone. I have very high tech devices to use the internet. I like my phone to be simply that, a phone.
Fourth, my voice never raised, I never complained, and I never once used vulgar words. She insulted me, and ignored my entire tech support query.
Fifth, as a supervisor, you should look into training civil, polite basic phone skills into your techs BEFORE you let them do live support, and make sure three questions are asked after the issue is known and before checks on various devices begin--How many internet capable devices do you own(please list models you use this on so we can make sure there are no known issues or bugs), is your phone a smart phone, and are you using it?
Sixth, I'd like to speak with your supervisor.

His boss didn't laugh, and assured me he would see to it...personally.

So yeah, dumb phone owner here. Why buy a handheld compy whose battery life is negligible, when my phone on heavy use(three hours talk time daily) needs charging once a week? Speaker phone has five hours per full charge. I do text a lot, which never seems to drain it. Oh, and this one upgraded from a tiny flip to a camera phone(it was six years old before dying) is three this Christmas. They last so much longer. Oh, and $40 for the phone, and about $360 a year for unlimited talk, text, and picture messages. It can also withstand falling down the stairs and hitting a stone tiled floor. My old one survived my niece washing it with soap and water.

My one "sis" goes through a smartphone every other year, pays $400-600 a pop, and spends $1800-2400 a year for unlimited talk, limited text, and severely capped internet(which you have to have turned on to use even the basic services).
I see college kids barely avoid getting squished by cars due to being plastered to those damned screens.

Yeah, it's a dumb phone life for me...and my son if I have any say(and if I pay for it, I say he gets a stupid phone, but that's not for another six or seven years yet, thank God!).
Yanno how some people have Angels/Devils for a conscience? I have a Dark Elf ShadowKnight and a Half Elf Ranger for mine. The really bad part is when they agree on something.

I paid just over fifty bucks to buy a brand-new, only-slightly-outdated, very nice Motorola smartphone outright (not on a subsidised contract plan where the full cost of the device is baked into the two-year contract). I use a pre-paid carrier (Kroger I-Wireless) from which i get unlimited talk, messaging and data (the first 500 meg at 4G speeds) for $35/month.

I'd been meaning to post this - the current status of the Relationship Decahedron, now with character pictures (click on picture for link to full view):

I noticed that, too. I guess it makes sense, in a way... The content here is more closely related to the comic than the other subforums it was sharing space with before...

I just pointed out to Pablo that it really should be in the Wapsi section, not the Pub section.
