howdy y'all! do not remember what pointed me here, but after an archive trawl it has had a solid spot in the Dailies folder of my browser favorites.

The denizens of the fair and wonderful state of Texas do seem to make up a large percentage of the Wapsi forumites.

Not to mention, they are by and large, the most polite, honest folk I have ever met in my travels...at least the Dallas/Ft. Worth and Houston areas I visited...oh, and the folk I asked for directions when driving through El Paso.

Oh, and they know how to make tasty hot sauce! <3

one thing I notice about the French is the same very strong pride about all things French...as a texan, I can totally relate---except about Texas, not France, necessarily....

And sure, we have hot sauce in Texas, but here they have cheese and wine....Suuuuuuuuuuuch good cheese and wine...

Nuthin' wrong with fine French wines and cheeses...as long as you put a little sause on it.

Which is why I loved France. I could relate to them...and the ones I met while I was there seemed to have a fascination with certain things they associated with being Texan. I got in good with some for bringing over fresh pecans (and teaching them how to shell them with your bare hands), and I made some of the ladies in the family I stayed with very happy for providing pecan pralines...and the grandmother was exceptionally fond of the Texas flag bird house. Maybe it was just the little village I was in...and maybe it was because one of those villagers had gone to Texas as a foreign exchange student (which is why my aunt and I were visiting that village).

I'm not actually new, I'm been around for 10 years or so, this is just a relatively new web persona for me. I can be a bit of a grump at times, but I'm not actually harmful. I like the new direction the story is going even though some of the characters are rather dysfunctional at times.
