Re: While we're talking about beef...

Tricky thing with Ethiopian restaurants is you can't be sure whether they'll have food.

Depends on whether they're having a teff year.

I guess you could say that Nadette and Atsali are Sole mates... Well, I could suggest that an erotic foot-rub involving two young ladies who are girlfriends, could end up in a "fille-lay of sole" situation, but that would probably hurt even more, so I really shouldn't, should I? I could b...

I hated stoichiometry in school. I love stoichiometry in real life. I did not learn just a hell of a lot in college. But I did learn how to decant pressurized liquids into open containers, wrap finely divided materials in small pieces of paper, and count the atoms on either side of a reac...

You know, in Pennsylvania, despite all the hoohah, groundhogs are not protected game animals. It's legal to shoot them any day of the year.

There's a reason for that.

Now do your Black Rye bread dough, kneading and rising three times. Bake bread at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. DON'T YOU DARE USE MARGARINE ON THIS!!! Unsalted butter only. Bet goat cheese would be good on that bread for breakfast, though. Details on the rye dough? Is that a variety of pumpernickel?

I had a pet squirrel for some years. Found a nestling on the sidewalk after a bad storm and took it in. Mostly, he seemed to think he was a tiny little dog with a real jones for peanuts. He would sit on my shoulder or nestle under my beard. Anyhow, one time I startled him in his nest, and he bit my ...

Mom is having a tech crisis with her job with my technologically-challenged aunt who for some rediculous reason decided using a Macintosh when the rest of the organization she works for uses PC's was a good idea. I liked Macs better than PCs when I used them at work, two employers and 14 years ago,...

All this reminds me of a great old Thimble Theater strip. Popeye's granny asks him to go downtown and get her a pair of knitting needles. So he goes downtown all happy, thinking Granny is gonna knit him a pair of socks or mittens or something. Later, he looks in on Granny to see how she's doing. She...

Huh. Like how gas prices are always $X.XX9? That's always confused me. Why do we use pieces of money smaller than pennies? To me, it seems like it just adds needless complications... Hell, pennies are going out of style anyway. A lot of people are wondering why we still have them. It's a very effec...
