Re: Heavy Metal 2014-01-30

As for later bands, Metallica was good until they came out with a "soft version" of themselves, but again, it's a personal taste. Motley Crew, AC/DC, White Snake, Rob Zombie, it all depends on your tastes... For today's groups, Avenge Sevenfold has potential...first time I heard them I th...

Re: Hard Rock Atsali 2014-01-31

Well for me, I will honestly say that when I got the print from Ebay it was meant to be Original Art, now we have reprints of it? It sort of cheapens the Original Art concept. I know there is going to be a difference, but how much really? What you got off E-Bay was not a print. It was an original w...

Re: Hard Rock Atsali 2014-01-31

I agree. The pinups are nice occasionally, but I vaguely remember there was a storyline at one time. It would be nice to get back to it. A series of drawings that basically just emphasize one character's boobs (whether it is Monica or Atsali) gets tiresome. Well, I think I see in play here an ancie...

Speaking of metal ... Oh,hell, Fairport, now we're going to have to explain 8-tracks to the young 'uns Some things are best left in the past, and allowed to fade out to become Ancient Mysteries mentioned occasionally on obscure cable-TV shows shown at 4 in the morning and watched only by insomniac ...

Re: Heavy Metal 2014-01-30

We haven't seen any feral behavior from Atsali, but then, we haven't seen anything that would tease it out of her. If Castella is to be believed, Atsali doesn't like the fact that she's a siren and has likely been avoiding exploring the part of her psyche that goes along with being a predatory avian...

Re: Heavy Metal 2014-01-30

That snarl is a reminder that under her sweet nature, there is a predator lurking. I'm thinking Atsali will need to spend some time with Aunt Monica and Aunt Shelly learning how to keep her more feral side in check.

Seems to be a recurring theme with the Wapsi women.

Yeah but - I see the difference (as i said) being that Shelly and Monica are supposed to be adults, who Know Better. (Notice, i say "supposed to") I'm finding myself remembering Warren Oates' line to Daniel Stern: "You're supposed to be stupid, son. Don't abuse the privilege." I...

I'd venture to say Monica's most recent teacher is kind of the same.
Phix's lecture of Shelly and M feels a lot like this.

Indeed

Monica is taking a page out of Tanta Phix's Book of Tough Love for the Paranormal Youth here.

Even the nicest of teenagers can be insensitive @$$holes when confronted with someone who's a bit different from them. It's that whole lack of experience thing.

Some folk get over it. Some don't.

Either way, Aunt Monica is about to deliver a lesson to young Atsali on being rude to others.

But she is well intentioned, it's just her methodology that is questionable. Still don't like her all that much, thou...

Maybe the Etheitians found an new home when they exited Atsali?... I don't think so? I think Tina is evolving into something more than the sum of her parts. Note that while her separate components are talking to each other, they aren't segregated into separate word balloons. Notice all the inner vo...

Really? I was in Minneapolis for 4 years when I was a teenager (85-89) and I remember prodigious snow storms that would have crippled other cities (Maryland's 2008 "Snowpocalypse" was nothing compared to the hree-times a year storms we used to get), and standing on the side of the road wa...

I think Jessie's response here depends on a couple of things. I know from personal experience that perceived social status in high school can dictate the response of those who see themselves as being higher of a social status. Even if Jessie is grateful for Atsali saving her ass, social pressure may...
