Or, as a Robert Heinlein story put it, "The coroner's verdict of heart failure did not entirely explain the charred condition of the remains." Ultimately, all deaths can be described as "heart failure". Unfortunately, the world death rate remains pegged at 100%. That's life for ...

Count yourself as lucky, Julie. I don't suffer from SAD myself (I enjoy autumn and winter too), but my wife does and always has. She has a depressive down-turn every year when the days get short and the skies turn gray. Take her to a place where it's bright and clear (even if cold) and she perks ri...

Mind you, she could well be covering for him, insisting that she loves him and all that jazz when she's really sleeping with him to get a spot as a starter on the team (which wouldn't be rape if it was her idea rather than his, although it might qualify as prostitution depending on how you look at ...

Actually I don't think she was acting as J, J, & E. She's trying to explain something to the chief that he's not letting her say. Something important from what I can determine... My thought from the first bloody reveal "But he was dead when I got here! Would you pass up a free meal?"....

Re: "Sudden Snatching"?

To me it is a proof that legal actions an ethical conduct are two VERY different things. You want ethics? Consult a priest (or other religious authority figure). Laws judge morals, not ethics. :? That seems a little backwards from my understanding of morals vs ethics. Maybe my perspective is a litt...

I can't figure out why Autumn makes everyone so moody. I love Autumn, with the gorgeous colours, and Winter, with the white blanket that makes everything so crisp, clean, and pretty. The fact that my allergies go away for a bit doesn't hurt either! Seasonal Affective Disorder. Or, in layman's...

What is it about politics? This only reinforces my personal belief that those that seek power are the least suited to wield it.

Well, that's the difference, really. With religion, you're generally required to take things on faith (believing, even in the absence of evidence) and authority ("It is written" or "S/he has spoken"). Questioning is often either discouraged or forbidden, and alternative interpre...
