Re: Doing it right...

"All right, lads and lasses...looks like the show is over. HOWEVER, just in case that thing was not alone - let us be cautious on the way back to the residence, please. Form up. Ladies, would you lead us home, please? Greg, by me and be careful with that wretched cannon...odds and sods "HE...

Re: Doing it right...

I hate taking point. If there is one thing that one learns as a member of the military of any age it is that the sharp end of the spear gets blunted against an enemy - and being that sharp end is never pleasant. With Neil's command I took over distributing my troops - getting the patrol ready to go....

Re: Doing it right...

As dinner broke up Al and Daisy wandered toward Al's Alcove, as the space had been pithily named. Al was troubled - he'd been more than aware of the dynamics at the table around Atsali, young Master Glytch and her father, Buck. Glytch was being Glytch - a gentleman, despite his age - and Atsali was ...

Re: Doing it right...

The dinner bell rang in the kitchen, and the residents of Club Alexander trickled into the dining room. Greg and Neil came in speaking in low tones and took their places with at one end of the dinner table, Miss Annie and Phix to their respective sides with Aeterna in a playpen off to the side. Al s...

Re: EMP generator:

Give it to Thymbris, with a big sign on it saying DO NOT TOUCH.

I would LOVE to see what happens - preferably from geosynchronous orbit.

Re: Doing it right...

Oh, and as the one who's compiling the entire story, I think I know what to get Al for Christmas: a spelchekr. ;) More like a new set of hands - between essential tremor and osteoarthritis be glad you're getting what you're getting! :) More seriously, be aware that some of the spelling variants Al ...

(Psst, Al: Minneapolis definitely has a Whole Foods Market - in fact, it's right across Excelsior from Punch Pie Wood Oven Pizza...) Oh, I don't doubt it....but while Al is a resident of Minneapolis, his food tastes don't run to shopping at Whole Paycheck. He's more of an artisan shopper - bread at...

Re: Edward/Edwards...picky, picky, picky... :) I notice that earlier on as well and hadn't gotten back to deal with it. My bad. I am having SO much fun with this. I would never, ever have thought that I could write cooperatively with other people in a story, never mind in a scene. Wow. Also, kudos t...

Re: Doing it right...

After the day he'd had so far, Al was feeling a serious need for coffee. Wandering into the kitchen after the draining meeting with Emerauld, he begged a cup of coffee and a small plate of chocolate-chip cookies from Rosalita. Sitting at the counter on a high stool (he loved kitchens, they reminded ...

Re: Doing it right...

Al caught up with Buck as he was pulling his car out of the garage to head off to the plant. With the short distance to the plant and the security at both ends he'd given up working remotely and had started to go to the plant on occasion - never on a schedule and always at random times. "What's...

Re: Doing it right...

Re: Doing it right...

We stood at the door of the coal bin, my love and I, awaiting Edward and the cavalry. I'd tried the door and it was stuck a good one, but nothing two people couldn't shove open. "I'm cold..." Daisy looked a bit forlorn, with coal dust covering nearly every inch of her skin, leaving her eye...

Re: Doing it right...

Al looked up at the hole and the beings surrounding it. The elf in patchwork leathers was new to the assemblage, however Glytch seemed to be familiar so he came down off immediate alert status. Thankfully Jin and Alan were safe, though Alan really needed to become a gentleman and give her his robe -...

Re: Doing it right...

Feeling something of a miscreant, Neil walked through the emptying great room as folks went about their business. People swirled about the room like water, finding drains at the doors to other rooms and corridors till the area was relatively silent. He hurried a trifle - not knowing why, as this was...
