Re: Tales from the Tabletop

Not much of a big story this time, but we were fighting a bunch of owlbears (because we haven't properly adjusted the random encounters for our party just yet), and my brother decided to cast Guiding Bolt at 3rd level (6d6 radiant damage, next attack roll against it has advantage), and he's been hav...

Re: More Stuff

Third weekend in a row that my dad wound up at the ER, and the second visit that was due to what turned out to be gastroparesis, brought on by his blood sugar issues. I have a feeling he's never going to be able to work again, and I doubt my mom is going to get a full-time job that pays enough to ha...

Re: Tales from the Tabletop

Yeah, I was thinking of doing the same, except these portals would actually have a structure containing them. Not so sure I want to bother with their origin or the reason for their construction, and just leave it as a "who knows" sort of thing. Ask the gods of the different worlds, and the...

Re: 2023-04-30 Room Cleaning

Does this mean there may be future pinups of Daylla showing off a curvaceous posterior? I think it wouldnbe kinda funny to see her using it to tease her boyfriend (who I completely forgot existed).

Re: Tales from the Tabletop

Sounds sort of like the Multiverse/Hell's Gate series by David Weber and Linda Evans . . . --FreeFlier The funny thing is that I had a very similar idea for a fantasy setting I wanted to use on a roleplay/writing forum I used to frequent, except it would be one world made of several pieces of other...

Re: More Stuff

My dad wound up in the ER at the veterans' hospital on Saturday. His blood sugar was at 300, even without eating anything, and the doctor said he was pretty much just peeing sugar. So far, all I know is that he's going to be there a couple of days, he's going to be dependent on insulin now, and they...

Re: Tales from the Tabletop

Not sure if I've mentioned this before in More Stuff, but my brother, his wife, and I have discussed some ideas for a homebrew setting we could use for future campaigns, and I'm getting pretty stoked to actually write a campaign for it. The basic idea is that there are several worlds that are linked...

Re: Tales from the Tabletop

I haven't really picked a particular style. Right now, I'm running two characters (because originally it was my brother and his wife, with me as DM), a paladin and a sorcerer, both dragonborn (bronze and copper, respectively). When we get in combat, I tend to be aggressive with both, with the sorcer...

Tales from the Tabletop

Since apparently I'm not the only one who plays tabletop games, I guess there's plenty stories to share, so instead of letting good stories get buried in More Stuff, we can just drop some stories of silly happenings here. As I've been on vacation all week, my group has been playing almost every nigh...

Re: More Stuff

Dad's still dropping weight, but I think he's gotten it into his head to lay off the sweets. I don't know if he'll manage to stop this rapid weight loss, but if he doesn't then I think that he won't make it to Christmas at this rate. I was really hoping that life wouldn't try to yank the rug out fro...

Re: More Stuff

My dad ended up going to UAMS this morning. The doctors think it's his diabetes, but I don't think they gave him anything for the pain. At least it isn't cancer. I think my mom is talking to him about what he's supposed to be eating to keep his diabetes in check. On an unrelated note, I ended up pic...

Re: More Stuff

My dad will be 60 in June. He wasn't seen by a doctor, but he says he's expecting to hear back from the VA about when he'll have an appointment. When I heard mention of diabetes being a possible culprit, that made a lot of sense. He hasn't been taking medication for it, and he still eats junk food. ...

Re: More Stuff

Yeah, he does have diabetes. I forgot to mention that. When I got home from my brother's place today (two nights of D&D, whoo!), I saw that my dad was still home, and then a minute or two later I saw that had sent me and my siblings a group text, pissed that we talked with mom about his health. ...

Re: More Stuff

My family may be finding out soon if my dad has cancer. A year ago, he weighed 275, and now he weighs about 175. He hasn't been exercising, and he's been unable to eat as much as he used to. We also recently found out that his sister has stage 3 lung cancer. However, there's also some unrelated and ...

Re: More Stuff

I don't know how much the adjustment is, but given that it wasn't until a few years ago that they made more than $50k together (and now I'm wondering if they were just shy of that with two full time jobs), and at my current rate, my gross income is just shy of $36k... Not sure if inflation has been ...

Re: More Stuff

I should clarify (because a simple edit to put in what I forgot would be unnoticed unless I point it out): I meant to say that I would like to get away from everyone on both Christmas and my birthday. As far as holding the family together goes... I doubt it's me. My brother and sister (both older) h...

Re: More Stuff

In light of recent reminders that I'm just not that important to anyone in my family except when they need my money or don't want to do something themselves, I've decided that I'm not participating in Christmas next year, and I'm going to have to find some way to not be at home or where anyone can f...

Re: More Stuff

To you, but she's friends with my brother on Facebook, and I've seen a video clip she sent to him. She was letting him hear some music she had, which had the children's rhyme from the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise ("One, two, Freddy's coming for you~"). So yeah, she's a real person, an...
