Re: Hullo happy people.

Dammit now I want a Jaegerduck. Not a plushie, the actual duck... though it'd probably void all my various insurances if I had one. Could probably be covered under the sort of policies that owners of exotic species and/or potentially dangerous dogs take out. Just tell your insurance agent you want ...

Well, that old cat my dad picked up a few years ago that won't use the litter box? He decided that he's taking the cat to the animal shelter Saturday (that, or he's gonna tell me to go). She isn't a bad cat; she just needs to be the only cat in the home and needs a little bit of care that nobody re...

Also, the boxer engine layout that i believe Subarus use would make the engine shorter, allowing more legroom. That, I knew... The engine in there was so small... a 1.8 L. engine, but only as deep as two cylinders. Think of a V4 engine (no, not a typo, V4, not V8) that was flattened, so that the cy...

I'm glad you let Jasper go with what dignity you could. Too many people go for the torture route just so they can put off the sense of loss just a bit longer.

Oddly enough, the Ford Festiva (NOT the Fiesta) was a tiny car. It also had enough head room that my 6' father, with most of his height in his torso (just like myself) could get in the car without a problem. My 5'2" mother could ALSO drive the car. I can't ride in a lot of 1980's GM cars, at le...

Probably similar to the Pontiac Vibe and Toyota matrix. It involves removing the front bumper, and sometimes the fender as well.

I thought we were talking replacing the PAN, just changing the Oil is eezzy-peezzy... Replacing the _Pan_ is easy-peasy unless it's a GM 6 cylinder engine. Then you have to lift the engine to remove the support bracket that's blocking the oil pan. Heh. Back in the early 70s, when GM was planning to...

I didn't even know there was such a thing. I guess with 'Bacon Vodka', then Ginger flavoured Brandy shouldn't be too surprising. I doubt anyone's made it _from_ ginger itself. (brandy is distilled wine, I can't see someone making a wine from nothing but ginger root. Probably would be hard to ferment...

If your vehicle is older, a replacement self-tapping plug might be another good thing to have on hand. It's a bad feeling when the plug starts to get snug but then keeps turning and turning... A sheet of cardboard is good, if you have a large box you can break apart. As for the plug - that won't ha...

I believe we are really close to being free of bedbugs, as I haven't seen a live adult in a couple of weeks, and a very small one last week (I saw something small crawling on my nightstand, and didn't actually look before squishing it). I've decided that this is the last time I go to the dealership to get an oil change. I won't have to wait if I just get the tools and do all that myself. Doesn't take too much. Get an oil filter wrench; it's very helpful. (big socket version). Also get a belt wrench, because some of the filters are...

And then I'm going to look into maybe getting an agave or a yucca to plant where the orange tree formerly stood. Watch out for the Yucca. It'll grow to a certain height (8 feet or so), then fall over. Then the fallen section will start growing up at the end, and root in the middle. If you let it ke...

Re: More Stuff

Rule of thumb on litter boxes, especially with territorial cats. One per cat, plus one. So if you have five cats, you should have six litter boxes, scattered. Reduces ambushing, and makes it more likely that the cats will continue to use the litter. You might also try switching to a different kind o...

The slats are a good idea. I've also toyed with the idea of filling that area with gravel so that it doesn't flood.
Hey, if they grow cotton in New Mexico, you can buy fish in Arizona.

The biggest problem is that it is sitting on an angle - and the angle is downward toward the back end of the property line, which is where all of the utility lines go. I intend to fill in the circle around the base, then drive in the stakes that will hopefully provide more potash for the soil. Get ...
