Re: Boxing

I always found the artificial constraints to be frustrating. Though it is hilarious to see the reactions when you ask if you can bring in your own sword, and then come in with your claymore and use it foil-style with them in foil matches and they have no idea what to do. Some of the most fun I had ...

Re: Atsali and Nadette 2016-06-17

The various people who I work with seem confused by the notion that I don't just listen to one genre of music. Apparently, people are only supposed to listen to just country music, or just rap music, or just classical Persian court music. I can't imagine what it must be like, living with that sort ...

I haven't used thermite myself, although I've been tempted to try out some of the little pre-packaged "hot-shot" thermite packets which are used to weld a ground rod to a ground wire. Much more secure than using clamps or screws or solder. If I lived in an area prone to lightning I'd be m...

Re: 1970s Leica in unopened original packaging - only $45K

Okay, I really, really dislike that concept. I like action figures, to me they're like little statues of the characters I like. I've been chided by more that one friend for opening the packages to pose them and set them where I will. Not a few times they might be called to action when I'm stalled at...

Re: More Stuff

Is it just me, or do people generally misread my posts, or pick them apart to take things out of context? It hasn't happened here, but some asshole elsewhere jumped all over me for saying that gun control wasn't the answer to the problem of things like the shooting in Orlando. What I had stated, RE...

Re: Boxing

Boxing used to be a lot more mainstream. I remember my grandfather watching boxing matches on TV when I was a little kid. I think they were on every week. He said it was fun when TV first got popular--you could watch the fight on TV while listening to it on the radio, and it was always more excitin...
