Re: What Chemical is on Tina's t-shirt?

If it's C8H10N4O2, it would be caffeine, which would make sense. It's a proportional rather than structural nomenclature, so while it could be caffeine, it could also be dozens of different molecules. Caffeine does indeed make the most sense, though. Except. . . If you keep the same atoms but rearr...

Re: More Stuff

I'm gonna get into hunting small game this winter, focusing on rabbits and squirrels. Anyone got any good recipes for either one? Trapping them will usually give you more meat than shooting at them will (and will give you more useful pelts if that matters), but if you do that you want to remove the...

Re: Need To Hide 2019-11-13

"So they don't find us"? Creepy, much? I'm not really getting a worried vibe from the kid, I'm getting more of a "we're playing a fun game!" impression. As though they're having a fun, not quite sanctioned by the adults adventure and hide-and-seek. Whether or not anybody else fi...

Haven't a clue, though I think we can eliminate a few possibilities (probably not siren, succubus, vampire, or demigod). I was just hypothesising.

It could still be the "stone tape" thing, if Mindy happens to have some sort of ability to connect with and build on the "memories". Maybe the recording starts, her mind subconsciously incorporates the information, and then her perception of reality is changed and her mind builds...

Not as bad as the guy I knew who would take pork fatback, deep fry it in melted fat, slather it with butter, and then eat that as his meal.

All that heavy use of LSD in the 1960's caused one of the years in that decade to skip. Scientists have yet to figure out how to re-insert it back into the timeline.

Mindy, and Hiroshi, at Tanagra. But not at Camelot, because that would be silly. Forgive me if I'm mistaken, but in my experience ghosts that have full torso manifestation normally don't make loud "thunk" noises, that's more a poltergoose, which also don't have any visible manifestation. ...

And I've decided to finally let everyone know that there won't be any new Jasper updates after this one. I had to say goodbye to her last month. I'm sorry to hear that you won't have your friend around any longer. But at least you had her around for all the time that you did, and you gave her a goo...

Yeah, I was once asked to drive. . .I think it was a Honda or Hyundai 4-door sedan of some type. It wasn't supposed to be a compact car, just a "normal sized" one. I pushed the seat all the way back and down, the steering column all the way up, and tried to get in. Space was so tight that ...

When the kids were all talking in the school hallway about the trip to the mansion, she wasn't quite so hiding, either.

This is not Valerie's best day. Or month. Or school year, for that matter. Well, we don't really know what her previous school years were like. "Hey, we made it to mid-term with only 30% fatalities this year!" An eldritch horror who's afraid of ghost stories? Maybe she's hiding away in th...

Some things are left unshaken for a reason. If fulminate of mercury is shock-sensitive, what about fulminating Aphrodite descendant?

And I do hope that Barbara at least got Nudge's permission before using her to prod Mindy. That would be rude otherwise.

Mindy and Shelly are fourth cousins, I think. So hopefully Mindy doesn't have Shelly's potential for sudden violence.

If Mindy's mouth keeps hanging open like that, people might start to mistake her for a Venus flytrap! I wonder just how intentional Scarlet's prodding of her is? Just pretend you're your great-grannie, Mindy. She knows how to deal with males... So in the next couple of weeks, we'll see Valerie steal...

Re: Ginger brandy

I'd be curious to know how well a "ferment the ginger with a source of carbohydrates, and then distill" approach actually works out. Some of the essential oils in ginger root would probably come across in the distillation, but others might be left behind, or destroyed by the heat involved...

Re: Ginger brandy

I didn't even know there was such a thing. I guess with 'Bacon Vodka', then Ginger flavoured Brandy shouldn't be too surprising. I doubt anyone's made it _from_ ginger itself. (brandy is distilled wine, I can't see someone making a wine from nothing but ginger root. Probably would be hard to fermen...
