Re: Business As Usual 2012-12-21

That's exactly how I sit in my comfy chair.

Happy apocalypse everyone! Anyone have any New (Mayan Bak'tun) Year's resolutions for the next 5122 years?

Yes, clarification is necessary before I can pry myself out of the confusion corner (or maybe I just ate too many of these darn cookies...they keep appearing!!)

Re: Confession To A Shadow 2012-11-30

So now Phix and Monica can hopefully make nice, but what about Nudge? Is she still a hot Nudge sundae?

(sorry, I'll pay double for using that one again...plink plink)

Re: Like Dreaming 2012-11-29

Actual possession by another entity (demon or otherwise)? A psychological fugue state, or an "alter" (secondary peronality) coming to the surface? Some direct side effect of the Phoenix blood... like a "roid rage" kicking in? Shelly said much the same thing when she was describi...

Re: Like Dreaming 2012-11-29

I think Nudge is OK. My feeling is that this is an elaborate scheme to force Monica to get over herself and realize that she is no better than Phix at controlling her superpowers. She just needed to be shown that in just such a way as to make her think she had inadvertently destroyed a demigod. Of c...

Re: How's That for a Burn? 2012-11-27

" SPLORCH! " is one of my favorite words, like, ever. This action is consistent with the trend. Nudge is clearly trying to reconcile Monica with Phix, first by goading Phix into chasing her out the window (forcing Phix to save her and proving that Phix really is compassionate). Now she is ...

Tina makes a good point. When Monica gave Bud and Shelly the warning that sent them naked to Nicollet Mall, the text of her voice was grey-ish, indicating another presence than Monica speaking...

Re: I Hate Ragweed!

You and my wife and son. I am thankfully not affected by the Central Texas variety of ragweed, but it makes us wish and pray for the first freeze every year...sadly, in these days of extreme drought, that happens later and later... Are they allergic to things other than the ragweed perhaps? Weed po...

Re: Have A Bite 2012-09-03

Agreed that Nudge is in full Coyote-Trickster mode here, and I think we are witnessing the only time she can successfully survive a full-on sphinx attack. Like any god trickster, she is clearly adept at hitting all the right buttons, being relentless, and successfully evasive. In this way, she's let...

I always thought that went, "Everything tastes better in French." I mean, who would eat snails??? But escargo? Bring more! Culinary reasons were a major part of our decision to relocate to France...that and the fact that the 1-euro espresso I get out of the machine at Le Gare is better th...

Ya know...I've never really liked Fireman's #4 for some reason. Blue Moon I can generally enjoy. The best experience I ever had with Blue Moon was at a Sherlock's in Austin. It tasted different than any other time I've had it, and it was yummy . There were hints of vanilla or something complementin...

I have never tried the frou-frou vodkas. A bottle of Stolichnaya from the freezer, served neat, cannot be improved upon by any addition of essence or flavor.

Re: Make Her Stronger 2012-08-31

mmmmmm, I know it is tempting to give nudge a "you go girl" here, but I think her defensive stance is because she's bracing for what is coming, not necessarily that she's going to challenge Phix. And I think her indignation is still more about what happened to Shelly, and not what Monica ...

I think this is just perfect. She's just come down from the state she was in as depicted in Fallen Angel , and it is still unclear if this is before or after the full force of realization is upon her. The oft-mentioned "morning after" effect is beautifully depicted here. I also believe as ...

Regardless of the parentage of the current Shellynx (although it is an interesting speculative exercise), I'm not certain I'm feeling the change in Monica after seeing Phix in her natural element when emotionally/physically/spiritually charged. I always thought she was more naturally intrepid than t...

Hi! Finally got over here from a link on the comic. Had no idea it formed in July, or I'd have been here sooner! I know a lot of you from my excursions at the old Pibgorn forums (also defunct for similar reasons that Paul removed commentary), and am happy to continue the Comfy couch or corner of con...

Just venting - it's now ragweed season where I live, and I am dealing with the stuffy nose, itchy eyes, and resulting sinus and ear infections. Anyone else want to join me in the hay fever club? You and my wife and son. I am thankfully not affected by the Central Texas variety of ragweed, but it ma...
