Re: Right Behind You 2013-02-22

I'm letting some of Kath's Southern Iowa side show in her lingo. ^_^ "We're going to get"? An Iowa-ism for "get going" or "get in there"? It's a turn of phrase I don't think I've ever heard before (west-coast-transplanted Philadelphian that I am). It is a regional usag...

Seriously. They fight mean and sneaky, not dumb and dirty like the brand of thug that has spawned these days...the mods really need to fix that, as the xp farming from those sucks. I especially love how Notre Dame fans get at a home game. Makes one wonder how they became known as the "Fighting...

I was also gifted a nice bottle of Jameson's before I moved to France and I have yet to open it...still working through the lovely bottles of Cognac that i also received (I have excellent friends ;) ) I agree that coffee is the next step. And if you want to get exotic, you can also sweeten with Iris...

Maker's Mark

So Maker's Mark has backed off their decision to lower the alcohol content in their Whiskey after an uproar:

But can any of you Whiskey connoisseurs out there tell me the difference between a whiskey at 90 proof versus 84 proof? Is the taste noticeably altered?

This is so totally awesome. Good for him! Anecdotally, I was always the science and math nut in my house, but both science projects I entered for the local fair were canned derivative mediocrity. On the other hand, my "ne'er do well" brother, who was constantly in trouble, had the average ...

I hope Katherine brought her celphone; she's deep in Coyote & Roadrunner country. Deep enough that any attempt to turn it on and get service would probably attract one of those little humming air-darts that Coyote made out of sticks of dynamite. Bleep... churrp... whrrrrrRRRR... (horrified paus...

Oh you don't need to worry about the Bots touching our foodstuffs and drinks-of-a-fantastic-nature. :) I'm exceptionally protective of such things, and I'd smack any bot that got within 50 feet of our stores of awesomeness so hard that it would wake up in the 1600s...where it would be tried and bur...

Great, you gave me the mental image of Katherine riding Atsali in a game of Joust. Never did get any good at that one. I usually got good at the ones others didn't (aside from Donkey Kong). Joust was a different Animal. I was best at Donkey Kong, Xevious, Berserk/Robotron, Time Pilot, and Galaga, b...

B_Rud I'm pleased to see Katherine taking relative control of the situation. zachariah Yes she is and it is a good sign. This is an excellent example of putting the cart before the force. That's all you can do when you're stuck with an adolescent Siren as a companion. With luck, Atsali will learn f...

Me too. They're a bit creepy, but at least they don't say much or take up any room in Confusion Corner. Well that was my concern, because I keep a stash of gourmet food and drink in the corner...BAD BOT, THAT'S MY POTPIE!! So I get the indexing thing, but I'm fairly certain they will evolve into cr...

...dynamite that has been sitting for 100 years will "sweat" all the nitro to the surface and it crystallizes. At that point, if you sneeze, it goes "boom". Fire pisses it off and it still goes "boom". Soooooo, how sensitive is is crystal nitro to an ear-splitting scre...

OK, so I'm late to the party on this one, and I am surprised not to have seen more comments about this particular subject, but like the originator, I am not, nor will I ever be, on facebook. I'm pretty certain that someday the iron grip fb has on all things social will loosen. Until then, I remain f...
