Re: Jaguar Girl 2012-09-14

My archive-fu is weak, thanks to the length of time Pablo has been drawing this comic, but I believe she's been linked to jaguars before.

The Jaguar, if memory serves, is a Mayan symbol of one who moves easily between life and death. It can also explain why she avoided those bullets so well.

Re: Where were you at 0846 EDT on 9/11/01?

I remember seeing the Challenger explosion after class at school. I had to go downstairs to the basement to turn on the TV to watch the launch and subsequent explosion.

Re: Where were you at 0846 EDT on 9/11/01?

I was in bed. I work third shift, and even though I had been off the night before, I was scheduled to work that night. My wife had left for work about an hour beforehand, and I was laying in bed, trying to get to sleep. One problem: my next-door neighbors in our condo complex were getting new window...

Re: Squeee 2012-09-10

So, not only do we learn the Bibliothiki has an exterior (I honestly wasn't so sure, until Bia was sent there quite suddenly), but it resembles a cross between Cloud City and The Ways. Neat! Phix: Don't worry, I've got you. Nudge: You've got ME?? Who's got YOU?!?!? (going old-school for that refere...

I think that doesn't happen until after Thanksgiving. At least in the Dallas Metroplex area, anyways... (deposits a videotape copy of the Ice Bowl into the pun vault) Truth. :) It has been delayed somewhat due to the impressive manner in which the Boys won on Wednesday. Just gotta say that I am amazed at the talent you all show! I can't draw a crooked line, and my color sense is non-existant. Thank you all. Your assignment, Mr. Phelps, should you decide to accept it: 1. Draw 5 stick figures in a row on a piece of paper. Just standing, walking, or whatever. Don't b...

Re: Squeee 2012-09-10

I'm trying to count - it looks like about 16 different "floating islands", and they're all connected. And our library exterior appears to be just to the bottom by the upper left corner of Nudge's "still falling" frame. If this is the realm of the sphinx, it probably wouldn't be s...

Uhm, wow, just looking at all those strips around that "Nudge comes in and the fight begins" arc, Shelly's Sphinxy ways are all too obvious in retrospect.

Re: Interesting comic synchronicity

When you get to a certain number of years doing a webcomic, you've pretty much reached the level of "BOY I've been doing this a long time." Of course, Pablo's got nothin' on Howard Tayler. Then again, NO webcomic artist has anything on Howard. Major illness, webserver literally catches fir...

Re: Plunk 2012-09-07

But a relatively short time later, she was able to take over Tina's body and move her out of the morgue. How did she cover that distance? She can't poit, so haow does she move long distances? Just wonderin'. Since Nudge is apparently Coyote, she clearly knows how to morph into a canine form. It's n...
