Make sure that it was a bass, at least, to fit the circumstances.

Re: Spicy Stuff Recipe

It does seem to me that jalapenos, though now available damn near everywhere, are nowhere near as hot as they were 30 years ago. Whether that's me or the chiles is hard to tell.

Capsicums do cross-pollinate like mad, and interesting things can happen when you raise plants from saved seeds.

Well, despite what people say about Texas (and they say a LOT ), Texans have no monopoly on peculiar pronunciation. Here in Pennsylvania, we have Dubois (DEW-boys), Versailles (ver-SAILS), and Yoghiogheny (YOCK-a-GAY-nee). And we won't even mention Ephrata and Pequea. And don't forg...

Re: 1st *Unofficial* DFW Wapsicon

I know some people named Dubois the way you pronounce it. :) Might be descendants of the same family. There was a brewery that made DuBois Budweiser beer when I was a kid, but I think it was named for the town, not run by the family. No idea whether the beer was any good. (A reminder that Budweiser...

Well, now we know who (if not what) Daylla is. One mystery solved. Not many left in this comic series! KIRK??? Sheesh, I thought that every body knew that that was from the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Sokath, his eyes uncovered!" with Admiral Han Solo and Lieutenant Adama. &qu...

Pronounce it however you choose, my friends... Oh that's a given. We pronounce a lot of things how we choose. :) Well, despite what people say about Texas (and they say a LOT ), Texans have no monopoly on peculiar pronunciation. Re: Spicy Stuff Recipe

Pickled beets are about the one and only food that I just can't stand. I dislike even just the smell of them. I think that's genetic. Not everyone can taste whatever compound has the objectionable flavor. My mother pickled hard-boiled eggs with beets, a 2- or 3-gallon bucket at a time. My sister an...

My tisane is beefarm honey straight from the farmers market, lime juice, raw ginger rough chopped, and a pinch of cayenne, with boiling water poured over, and left to steep for a good while. I eat raw garlic, garlic soaked in brandy(as an expectorant), and massive amounts of garlic in my food. My p...

Re: More Stuff

Are those vinyl tiles somewhat flexible, or does it give you a hardened surface to sit and roll your chair on? It is completely stiff while on the wood floor. That looks really good. I think the tiles would break up over time in an old house with uneven floorboards (like mine), but it's easily repl...
