Re: I bought a thing

For a while, PW was setting up to do a Good/Bad Connie statue, but never saw it available for purchase. Ah well... If I recall correctly, the company making those figures ran a contest to see which ones they would make. The Conscience statue didn't get enough votes and I guess they decided it would...

I'd swear that the gryphon on the wall behind them is either shaking its fists, or giving someone the finger, but I can't tell for certain whom is being so blessed. Possibly the Gods themselves. "Damn you, oh Powers, you who have condemned me to spend eternity emblazoned on this wall, forced to lis...

little more work to be done but excellent progress She's already learned to do carefully-controlled fine-detail plasma burning, carving small rocks in the Canyon. If she can get her reflexes trained well enough to do that even when startled, I think she'd have a pretty good solution. Although, havi...

I still haven't encountered a decent explanation of why to make powdered sugar stick to a donut. Considering that the combination tastes almost as good as a donut without powdered sugar, but is messier to eat. A few possible reasons: For some buyers/eaters, "sweet" is a big part of the attraction. ...

Yes, it could have been worse... but it's bad enough. With the TV frotzed, Katherine and Castela are going to be limited to media-viewing on their computers, or (perish the thought) on their cellphones. Binge-watching Netflix on a 5" screen? Not terribly satisfying. Probably a human-rights violation...

Insult not the magical pasty...it contains far more nutrition than its simple casing suggests. And the Pun Jar is going to fry YOU unless you ante up... (Dave places a copy of Sarah McLachlan's Surfacing CD into the Pun Jar. It was great that a copy decided to turn up just now, so we can hear her s...

The best that can come out of this, is that the Gilchrist building needs some repair to some of its walls.

The worst that can come out of this... let's not go there.

I find it kind of interesting how the mother has her top pair of eyes and her bottom left eye on her daughter, and the other three on her cooking. Makes good sense, really. There's no reason to let dinner burn accidentally while you're talking with your daughter. This sorta raises the question as t...

I was a bad boy again today. My office-mate was complaining about having to [re]invent a network protocol system which was capable of doing high-resolution network packet time measurement. We've had a good one in use here for several years (measuring transit times between servers) but the underlying...

I think Paul just likes to show shirts strained to the limit. He's writing themes in support of the American garment industry. Blouses which are exploded, or shredded by excessive pressure, have to be replaced. Miriam is sensible enough to replace the now-too-small apparel before such an urgent occ...

You aint the only one. In my younger days i have been known to hide under beds and in closets trying to avoid nurses. I often wonder as well if my phobia of snakes is linked to the same root. The fear of nurses is closely linked to the fear of revenants (vampires, specifically). They come in the we...

We've seen that Pickle has a pretty bad case of separation anxiety. At times she's gotten seriously wigged out about Atsali's departure for college, and about the possibility that Kath's relationship with Bryn might change Kath and make her less than a mom. She's physically almost invulnerable. Emot...

Aaah, what Digit saw (assuming that she did) was just the Barnabas Effect... a simple hangover from the temporal anomaly created by the ley lines. It's an image of those two nerds Mindy and Barbara as they were running around the mansion the previous night. Mindy was carrying a light, young Barbara ...

OOH and I wonder if I could co-crystalize it with anything else exciting... anhydrous hydrogen peroxide, perhaps, or maybe even something with fluorine...
