Re: The Cool Aunt 2021-01-18

From somewhere, I remember a movie(?) where the good guy was running from a bunch of bad guys. Passing through a kitchen, he quickly dumped some flour and coffee creamer powder into a blender. Continuing his run with the blender, he grabbed some tea candles as well. He found a room, turned on the li...

Not like the days when there was a Radioisotope Shack in every strip mall.
Indeed! It's gotten so much harder to find a good source of Aluminum16 for my Stirling Engine power supply.

Re: More Stuff

Well, I finally painted one of my D&D minis. It turns out that maybe I should have bought an airbrush if I was going to start with a dragon... and not one of the wyrmlings (dragons under 5 years of age). It took me an hour to apply a single coat of base paint to it. So, not just dipping it into the...

Freezing fog is the thick hoarfrost type. Freezing rain/drizzle leaves a coating of clear (usually) ice on everything, often knocking down trees and power lines from the weight as it builds up.

Kinda chokes you up, don't it?

It was quite a show! IIRC, her special guests were Feliz Navidad and her sister Kitten! It was an amazing act.

Re: Arecibo go boom

As is all too common in industry and especially politics, the focus is on what will get another year's operation, and not sustaining equipment for the next 10 years. I've seen an industrial company drop 1 Million on a used machine tool, then bitch about poor production and high costs when they didn'...

It's the Balut that makes all the difference! Tengu berries are an easy start to a variety of concoctions, but not even Limburger could stand up by comparison.

Re: Vote.

Sounds like a SLAPP suit - Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation. The subject turns the tables on the accuser by getting a court to silence them pending a far-in-the-future resolution. There are laws against this now.

Tengu berry mush!

No doubt my grammar filter was distracted while I dealt with my lung lining being shed at the "tasting" -- the powerful scent and all that.

P.S. - Don't forget the Crunchy Frog mints!

Next up, Chateau Merde, a fine Georgia Rosé with a distinct, sharp taste and subtle after effects. Known for it's powerful scent, it is an excellent accompaniment to Bar-B-Que beef and Spicy Mexican dishes.

Re: Vote.

IIRC, there is a Constitutional process where State legislatures can reject the Electors representing the "popular" vote and appoint their own. This then falls on Congress and the 6 Jan deadline to choose which electors to accept/reject, and then count the electoral votes. I forget the name for this...
