Re: This is starting to worry me... (was my phone hacked?)

My password binder is home use. Back tracking the password spam was simple since it was a E-mail blackmail threat announcing they had my password "WAXXONwaxxoff" and what an Interesting Time I had visiting naughty sites, and what a shame if all your social network friends found out... send bitcoin t...

Re: British cider strongbow

One thing to remember is American Cider is basically an apple juice. British (European) Cider is a fermented product on par with beer, including the Alcohol. Beware and be wary! It WILL knock you on your ass in short order it you let it!

Re: This is starting to worry me... (was my phone hacked?)

FWIW - More than once Caller ID said I was calling myself. Some of the spoofing techniques use the area code and local exchange numbers to make you think it's someone local calling. The point is caller ID is not completely trustworthy, although I do believe it when it comes up "Spam" or "Private Num...

Re: Schtupid Email Scams

Well, perhaps you suffer from Multiple Personality Disorder, and were not aware of it... have you ever asked yourself that question, just to be safe? I think I remember doing that, but it was voted down by committee, which then recommended forgetting it. At least, that's what is said on the sticky ...

"I GOT A ROCKET IN MY POCKET" by Jimmy Lloyd.

1958 was really something!

For you musicologists out there, here it is again -- sort of:

"I Used To Could" by Mark Knopfler.

I'm on someone's Amazon Scam list, because I'm up past 10 "Your Amazon Account has been frozen due to....." wasp invasion, narwhal vomit, irregular purchases, restricted zoning rights for marsupials, 14th Amendment violations, etc etc etc. I just keep forwarding them to the Report Spam address at Am...

A professional economist comments on Covid trends, and the charts being commented upon.

Ditto that. Included in this are the sites with videos that jump to a side frame when you scroll down to try and avoid it. Wishing them lumpy mashed potatoes and wrinkles in their socks forever.

Part of why I wanted to install Linux in the first place was to learn and play with Apache/MySQL.

Re: More Stuff

After doing some research, my first intro to Linux was through Knoppix, a version which came with it's own nice book and install disk. I got the general gist of it pretty quickly as I had plenty of programming experience with Applesoft, Forth, Pascal, and some other environments. Then, I tried actua...

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)

Also Testing Bias. How many people were tested on the low side vs the high side? Are more being found because there's more testing? Are the "Cases" showing antibodies, active symptomatic disease, asymptomatic people, or a combination?

The graph suffers from ambiguity.
