Re: June 4th - Quick Update

good to hear i was half afraid i was gonna hear that, unbeknownst to me, a case of Author Existence Failure might have occurred I don't know where that link is supposed to go, but it doesn't. Hmmm. It's supposed to go to A Bad Place - unless you've got time to waste, that is. I'll fix it.

Re: More Stuff

And of course, it's even worse when the stuff getting all poofy are actual explosives! During WW 1, an ammunition ship in Halifax, Nova Scotia went kaboom - 3 Kiloton worth -- the largest non-nuclear explosion ever prior to nukes. Hiroshima was 14 Kt, Nagasaki was 20 Kt by comparison. For the longe...

Re: More Stuff

Look up "West, Texas" explosion. Which was finally determined to be arson, and if they catch the person that set it off, they're probably looking at one of the fastest tracked death sentences in recent Texas history. I don't know if i'd heard it was arson. Yep. I'd advocate the same method of execu...

Re: A Steal at $28K

I have had the privilege of riding in a '40 Ford Deluxe V8 that was not modified. It... wasn't much to speak of. The '40 Coupe - like the black one in those photos - was highly regarded as a starting point for rods because it was very well-balanced. {As was the '57 Chevy and even its station wagon ...

Re: More Stuff

A friend of a friend - if you're active in SF fandom, you're no more than one or two handshakes away from all sorts of odd people {A Nobel winner's son?} - is a Federal inspector of grain elevators. I( understand he has some pretty hairy tales to tell. Another friend worked for an insurance company ...

What i find interesting is that those are not restored cars. They're upgraded.

Disc brakes, for example. They'd still be nice looking, but not as dangerous on the road :)
They're hot rods.

Yeah, but apparently "chonky" isn't necessarily fat, flabby, or chunky. Someone told me that muscles can contribute to chonk.

It's a cute look, kind of like the big paws on a lynx or a snow leopard.
Take a look at a real ballet dancer's legs...
