Kath was quite understanding when Castela mistakenly blew a hole in the TV one night. She was downright complimentary about it, as I recall, since Castela exhibited excellent blast-control and didn't destroy a single neighborhood building. So, I suspect she'll be gracious about this little incident...

One of Steve and Helen's co-workers tested positive for the virus yesterday. So Helen decided that even though it had been more than a year since they saw her, they shouldn't go with me and Kate to visit Kate's 90-year-old mother who {along with Kate's brother Collins and his wife and daughter} had ...

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)

Reports i've seen from various knowledgeable sources {i.e., epidemiologists and disease experts} say that COVID-19 has a fatality rate anywhere between ten and thirty times that of seasonal flu. Part of that is that, like the 1918 flu, it can set off a "cytokine" storm in which the body's immune sys...

At this rate, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that just looking at someone with the virus will spread it.
Back in the earlies, someone postulated a mutant form of HIV infection that they called "Hearing AIDS" - it was transmitted by listening to assholes.

Heh. This is exactl y what i came here to report. Was gonna quote the same BBC report. I'm not proclaiming it a cure; given the reported percentages, it's a palliative, but a pretty good one. A quote from the BBC: The UK government has 200,000 courses of the drug in its stockpile and says the NHS wi...

These drugs have been prescribed, for decades, for malaria and for lupus. These are diseases for which there is plenty of historical data (and lots of previous trials) to show that they are actually effective. Within the next few weeks? Cases have already gone up again in AZ. Is that like in New York where it was discovered that ALL DEATHS were being listed as 'Covid-19' because of the $$$ the hospitals would receive?
