It's a Greek name, so I'd expect the emphasis to be on the second-to-last syllable (SA in this case).

Re: Secret Mission 2014-10-21

But trying a contrived plan using your younger sister is asking for it to blow up in her face. It will too. Likely in a most hilarious manner. I suspect Castela knows this, and is channeling Nudge to make extra sure that Atsali doesn't mess up. She's remarked before that adults have trouble listeni...

Judging by panel 3, I'm starting to think maybe it's not that Pickle has no filters, but rather that she's started growing out of that and is actively trolling.

Re: We don't got to show you no steenkin' Windows 9!

The explanation I've heard for why Microsoft skipped Windows 9 is that there's a huge amount of legacy code to see whether the version number starts with "9" and then executes functionality that's specific to Windows 95 or 98. That would cause those pieces of software to break on the new o...

Re: Lands on Her Feet 2014-09-26

For those interested, I dug up some more papers that relate to the question of what would happen if Calista went into freefall rather than an ordinary human. I blame the recent end of my grad school education in applied mathematics. :? :ugeek: 1963 report by the FAA on human survivability of extreme...

Re: Figure It Out 2014-09-25

Scariness factor aside, I'm not too worried about what will happen to Calista if she goes into freefall. If we assume she has a loaded mass approximately equal to a guinea pig (0.73 kg/1.6 lbs), her terminal velocity under 1G of acceleration in an atmosphere similar to Earth's is only (37 kph/23 mil...

Anyone want to take bets on what's going to happen when our favorite pocket elf goes barreling over the atrium ledge and breaks the strand of spider silk that Cricket is hanging on?

I can't recall if there's been a single arc since last August where someone didn't get their their psychological defenses shattered.

I'm pretty sure that demon is Dread at this point. If she's the one riding herd for Cricket, M is going to have to completely rethink her strategy.

It's interesting that M and Doubt seem to have reconciled off-panel at some point. I almost snorted diet coke out my nose when I saw M describing her as a "trusted advisor", considering their previous history.

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz

Is "galaxy alternator" what you were looking for? Yep! I like that one because I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop when the main cast realizes what it meant when May said she just "found" one. To my way of thinking, Bia's father should never have been able to punch through th...

[ Very good ! Your context info tells me you didn't just guess. Although, technically, she wasn't so much "winding down" from an adventure, as much as retelling Monica's adventure (fixing the calendar) to Oscar. Still, I am satisfied with your answer. Your question, please? I didn't know ...

Re: Wapsi Square Trivia Quiz

IIRC, M said Shelley was living vicariously through her when M started dating Kevin, and Oscar said the same about Kath at one point when they were winding down from an adventure.

I always thought Kath had six specular reflections that show up in her eyes, but the eyes themselves are solid black.

When Nadette went into autopilot I wondered if she was related to Nudge or Tina (which would mean she was a grandchild of Bia). Maybe Nudge has grand-cookies. (Sorry, heard the phrase recently and fell in love with it (Now I cant remember where :( )) EDIT: Just remembered thanks to Amber and her DM...
