Re: Holiday Comments Section

Aside: I just tossed the two elves' full Elvish names into Google Translate.

They are (supposedly) Greek.

To'ryll doesn't change in translation to English.

But their surname changes from Drathmir to Dratimir, and Uuthli changes to Hytili.

Gee thanks, Google, that's so enlightening...

Re: We have a month and a half before new material, Where's the portal to the coffeehouse?

Zelle watches in astonishment, having never before even heard of a 'summon banquet' spell. Then she takes a sip of her tea (mint and 'dark chocolate', whatever that is) and, sliding her harp back in her bag, goes to examine the offerings. On the way she notes that this Freeflier's tea smells familia...

"I don't recognize any of those places," the short woman says, "but I already suspected we're from different worlds." She watches this 'Tina' assemble the beverages, or more particularly watches the devices being used. "Thank you, Tina, I was intending to get some food."...

Re: We have a month and a half before new material, Where's the portal to the coffeehouse?

A small woman appears. She would look about 30 years old were it not for her height. Slender but not thin, she is dressed in elegant and formal-looking robes of very high quality and carrying a matching shoulder-bag with a silver-colored strap - her long hair appears to flow into the bag. Her ears a...

When we got it (early June) it was even milder than that - we didn't get the headache or fever.

Turns out, it's a copper dragon
And I somehow read that with an entirely different, non-metallic meaning of "copper"... which opened up all sorts of interesting possibilities. (After all, if a bunny and a fox can, then why not a dragon?)

I've heard several similar stories, and I think the large majority of them were deliberate jokes on the part of the people who originated them... who, in real life, may or may not have been the people who did so in the story.

http://wapsisquare.com/comic/find-your-way-2/ I disagree, I prefer a close-grained tropical hardwood from the Phillipines that has almost no visible grain and is moderately light but carves and sands almost as well as MDF over any of the temperate hardwoods. I haven't made a wooden model in 4 decad...

Very minor nitpick: "high dessert" is what Okanogan County's Finest ate after their pizza during a certain adventure in a box canyon. The word you want here is "desert" with only one S.

So Castela can travel to any place , but I wonder how well she can home in on a particular person or object? Can she actually sense where everybody and everything is at any given time? If so, then at least she'll never misplace her keys or mobile phone. Well, she also has this special ability to co...

Re: Follow you Anywhere 2022-06-27

There's real, and then there's discussing something within its universe. This is an example of the second. And we are engaged in a discussion of the second type right here, one level of recursion above them. This then begs the question... just who or what is discussing us, one level further up the ...

Gwen hates cold-and-rainy and doesn't do well in heat (especially if humid) and the Bay-area climate has been the best compromise we've found so far. According to the research I've done, the two best areas in the US for year-round climate are the San Francisco Bay area and the extreme northeast cor...
