German has weird capitalization rules.
Try learning 10th Century German. Then there is no capitalisation to worry about!

Re: Medusa's Story (Formerly Patreon Only) 2019-08-13

I think Stheno needs some healing. On a somewhat related note, I watched a video about the gorgons, and it said Stheno had red snakes, and they would lie flat most of the time. The picture reflected this, but curiously one at the middle would curl forward a bit, much like what we see in the comic. ...

Re: More Stuff

Not sure if I could have used less, but they're definitely going to get it on them. It doesn't really take all that much. Just enough to get a decent coating on them as they crawl across it. It's more important that it be the right size particles and that it doesn't get too damp. So a moderate amou...

Won't that annoy the alligators in the sewers?

Re: More Stuff

Take a large diameter pan (like a serving tray, or even better one that would go under a water heater), cover the bottom with quarter/half inch of water, put a couple or so drops of dishwashing soap in the water, swish it around to spread the soap, set the pan on the floor in middle of room, set up...

...You have suddenly explained a lot for me, Dave. I was wondering why I was getting bites on occasion since moving here. That big palm tree outside may be the reason.
The Vampire Palm Tree is one of the less well recognised members of the carnivorous plant clan. Very sneaky and insidious.

Re: More Stuff

I don't know if birds qualify enough as 'mammals' for bed bugs to survive on their blood. Oh, they definitely can. Bed bugs are a problem in the poultry industry, and just as much of a nuisance to get rid of. I'm dealing with a flea infestation myself. Now that the cats have seresto collars, the fl...

Re: More Stuff

My choir director forwarded me an email from someone looking for amateur tenor and bass singers, to join in a choir to sing Verdi's Great Requiem... After consideration, and discussion with the person who originally had sent him the email, I have decided to join. Remember to end every piece with "S...

Now that I've replied topically, here's what I came here to post: Talk about a tongue twister! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1edPxKqiptw I learned written English long before I learned spoken English. And of course, it's even worse when the stuff getting all poofy are actual explosives! During WW 1, an ammunition ship in Halifax, Nova Scotia went kaboom - 3 Kiloton worth -- the largest non-nuclear explosion ever prior to nukes. On the "plus" side, due to all of the people ashore sitting and watc...

Re: More Stuff

Just plain ammonium nitrate (without an added hydrocarbon fuel) can explode, if sufficiently mistreated. If it's heated enough, it can decompose explosively... that's what happened in the Texas City disaster I was alluding to (a ship loaded with AN caught fire, burned hot enough to boil the water a...

Re: June 4th - Quick Update

Of course, we are discussing the daughter of the blackthorn, so how much of this applies is . . . questionable. Yeah, technically she probably doesn't even have any muscle, instead having some weird vine movement ability (which might work similar to muscle tissue, or not; turgor pressure, perhaps?)...

Re: More Stuff

Actually, there are a few shop vacs in the workshop, but I have yet to see if they work... A shop vac, with an outboard cyclone separator, would be a good approach (the separator will dump most of the sawdust into a separate container, keeping it from reaching and clogging the shop-vac filter). And...

That is, indeed, quite the offer. Only my lack of cash, and the fact that local roads, as well as road salt in the winter, would damage that car too quickly prevent me from seriously considering it. But I've always been fascinated by cars of that era. One in original configuration would be interest...

I am very much impressed with the quick thinking of those two in pushing Pickle out of the way and springing into action. Preventing the deployment of a WMD is always a good idea. I suspect that those spots on the Naked Twister pinups might not be plastic paste-on's, but might be ursine in nature... If that were the case, though, then who would be there to play the game after all the trouble of setting it up? Invite Skylar and Ruri to spin the dial? Unless the ursine spots a...
