Re: Squirrelly stuff - Server shenanigans.

I got Covid for Xmas, and the stuff that other folks on here got hit with here makes me feel lucky . I got Covid for _last_ Christmas. I'm happy just to have the creeping crud that everyone else has been coming down with this year. Everyone I know that's been tested has been negative for flu and fo...

That's rather more drama than anyone needs in any one calendar year. :(

Or maybe five calendar years.
Oh yeah. I do not recommend having a Chevy Silverado try to take up occupancy in your driver's side while you're currently in said space.

Squirrelly stuff - Server shenanigans.

I'm not sure what went haywire (Back in august of all things), but I've done another round of server upgrades, then updated phpBB, then updated the SQL database. Then it REALLY took a nose dive, as the apache server kept thumbing its nose at me claiming bad permissions (without actually SAYING that)...

Re: It is done

You could look in parts of New Mexico and West Texas. There are a number of smaller towns that aren't bad for a retirement community, as long as you don't mind dry heat. (and being dry in general. You won't want to try to plant an enormous garden outside of a greenhouse) South Texas could be good as...

Re: Printer Advice

I'll second the Epson Ecotank. If you go on YouTube, and watch some of 'bigclivedotcom' s videos, you'll see the results. He photographs boards, then blows them up, and all of the prints are done with third party ink and an Epson Ecotank. Warning. Inkjet printers are generally NOT the best thing to ...

Looks like I can't read the comic anymore. I keep getting a DNS error. Could you cut and paste the domain name you're using, when you get the error? I just checked and wapsisquare.com and www.wapsisquare.com both resolve correctly, and work with both http and https. Even waspisquare.com works (boug...

I think you'll find they're back. Permissions issue related to the move. not going to try to get into details unless someone _really_ wants to know.

Hm.. I'm trying to check this; it was brought to my attention that some are missing.

The site upgrade didn't actually remove anything, just upgraded the framework, so to say. Trying to locate where these files live.

I'm fully certified now. Going to meet my brother (also fully vaccinated now) out at the parents' old place later today. We stopped getting together after Thanksgiving, when the cases were really increasing and the variants were spreading. So, the psychiatrists finally caught you, did they? Second ...

If it helps, I've been having issues for .. ever, here in Houston, with allergies. I don't think there's any place we can go, except maybe the Arctic tundra, where there isn't a plant whose pollen causes problems for many of us. I've heard that in some parts of Texas, at some times of the year, the...

I've seen it described as "some kind of twisted tree bukkake" . . . My maroon car is sort of orangish . . . and somebody is burning stuff . . . poorly and smokily. --FreeFlier That's my neighbors. They keep lighting up when the wind can drift it into other people's yards. They also refuse...

Wow, you're lucky. That's the pine pollen.

Here's it's the oak pollen. I get to drive a puke yellow green car.

Re: Is the regular comic down? 16 March 21}

Yes - it was another upgrade step, in preparation for moving sites off of that machine, to one that's the latest and greatest everything. (well, latest, anyway, it's not always the greatest) Most of the problem was due to PHP and MySQL arguing with each other, and neither liked the modules they were...
