Re: What could you do with a $35 credit card size computer?

I must admit to some skepticism about the cross-ocean boat. Not that I doubt the Pi's ability to act as a control module and manager... it looks as if it should have plenty of cyberpower to handle a job like that... run a GPS, maintain a map, etc. But... a "130 watt solar panel" on a boat...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph

It's almost as if someone at Disney put the wrong labels on and "Ralph" was actually the Pixar film for 2012 and "Brave" was the regular Disney... Agreed. Brave was "Standard Disney Plot #4" and Wreck it Ralph was Toy Story for the video game generation. While I wouldn...

Well, in french customs, wishing well are strictly not to be done before newyear ;) C'est drôle, je ne le savais pas... Funny, I was not aware of that... :? If that is so, then strictly speaking, one could never wish well, for the length of time it takes to say it, the "newyear" has alrea...

Any significance to her last name? Seems kind of Glyph-y to me, have we known her last name before, and I just forgot? PyP, we discovered her name when she got "the book" that told her how to build the mirror ball. Right here... October 17, 2008 . I presume it's her birth-family name, and...

Re: Out Of Sight 2012-12-13

I find it a bright idea going back to the far older Oriental mythos of the Vampire being a haunted corpse (kinda like Tina if you think about it). By a person being forgotten and discarded (what I have called a thrown away child ) they are full of nothing but fear and loathing without any love to k...

At the very least the Roman Empire likely would have stayed out of a frozen solid Great Britain. No Londinium. They probably wouldn't have made it into northern France. And as far as a steel bodied Corvette the whole point of the fiberglass body is to keep the weight down. The 'Vette has stayed lig...

Yes, and Tsillah has referred to her father as 'Death'. Charon is the Boatman of the Styx, transporting peole to the land of the dead; Death itself would seem to be distinctly different. Your milage may vary. Charon describes his job: http://wapsisquare.com/comic/time-to-go/ Tsillah tells M that Ch...

Re: CLassical ringtones - Nokia hires 55-piece orchestra

It's about time. In my not-so-humble opinion, all cellphones should have a really good performance of Cage's 4' 33" as their default ringtone. Including a cowbell is fine, as long as it doesn't overpower the piano. I used for a long time the good part of 1812 overture as ringtone. Was rather f...
