Re: More Stuff

Now, I just have to make sure to fully master the part, so as to not embarrass myself nor slow things down for the group. I'm picking up the music score on Monday, and I was sent a link to a website that has MIDI files of the various parts, to help people in learning them.

Meanwhile, on a completely different note (pun definitely intended)... My choir director forwarded me an email from someone looking for amateur tenor and bass singers, to join in a choir to sing Verdi's Great Requiem... After consideration, and discussion with the person who originally had sent him ...

Re: More Stuff

I have now read several reviews of the Brave browser , and it looks like a viable alternative to the data-mining driven Google Chrome. I'll be using it as my default browser for a while, to see how well it performs. I'd still like to hear from anyone who has heard of it, has tried it, or is currentl...

Picture 1: You're going to give those grapefruits an inferiority complex, storing them next to the garbage can... :P Picture 2: that's an odd looking tree... (Part my hair in the middle, please! ) It looks so dead in the middle, yet the sides still flourish. Picture 3: are we looking at a pile...

Re: More Stuff

Has anyone ever heard of the Brave browser? It's based on Chromium, but is altered to be more secure, with ad blocking and more built-in , but you don't sign into the browser via Google, so no sending data back to Google. It can use all the Chrome extensions, using the Chrome web store to find them....

Re: Schtupid Email Scams

It's why the things are so often laden with grammar and spelling errors, and what you would think are obvious absurdities: to screen out people smart enough to question whether the IRS would really send you a letter written in Engrish... I have to admit, I had never thought about that angle... That...

The one thing I found odd, was that they combined shooting in the dark suppositions (like assuming the recipient visits porn sites, and "pleasures" himself while doing so, which may indeed be the case with many, so many may find the email intimidating and worrisome) with supposedly specific stuff, l...

I was doing tech support for the Canon BubbleJet printers. Started in the Win 3.1 era, and continued into the Win 95 era. Most memorable call? Just last Sunday, when I filled up before driving to my dad's birthday brunch, a van filled up, next to my truck. A 73 VW van... Admittedly, the owner said it was costing her a fair bit, to keep it alive... I told her I knew the feeling (mine being a 1991 GMC Suburban...)

Re: Anyone Want Some Grapefruit?

I think, based on what the congealed mass that is left of it looks like in our freezer, that it was probably about 35-40% ice cream, 35-40% whipped cream, about 15% brownies, and the rest chocolate sauce and toppings (sprinkles and a cherry). BTW that medallion that says "Buca di Beppo" on it is ac...

Re: Anyone Want Some Grapefruit?

Is the whole mound ice cream, with various syrups drizzled on it, or is part of is whipped cream? And if so, just how much of that mound is ice cream, and how much is whipped cream?
