Re: More Stuff

Here's another quote for you:
Of course I can keep secrets. It’s the people I tell them to that can’t keep them.

Here's the latest quote from my wallpaper changer:
There are three ways to get something done:
  1. Do it yourself.
  2. Hire someone to do it for you.
  3. Forbid your kids to do it.

I still don't see enough reason to buy over a hundred rolls of toilet paper, though.
I saved this image that someone shared with me on Facebook:

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)

I was surprised, and mildly amused, to find out, yesterday, that Dollarama stores are part of the essential services, up here. What made no sense, though, was how the cashier had gloves on, would take stuff out of your basket to scan them, but was not allowed to deposit them in your bag... You had t...

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)

Last Friday, a driver told us that he had read online of a transit garage in Toronto, where 170 drivers had been quarantined. As of this morning, all schools in the province of Québec are now closed until May 1. All shopping centers are now closed (I don't know if that only means closed-in malls, or...

Thanks for the link. I haven't finished reading it yet, but it's already proving to be a far cry from the general media hysteria.

What about the Vivaldi browser?

Last fall , I posted how the Brave Browser had taken a turn for the worst, suffering from slowdowns and even hanging my system. The Windows update version had fixed it, but the problem still lingered under Linux. That is no longer the case. It now works just fine again, under Linux. But while I was...

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)

Yeah, the worse the bad news sounds, the more people will try to pay attention to the news. I was at a friend's place, yesterday, to do my taxes (he's been doing taxes for people for years, and he lets me use his computer and software - for free - to do my own tax report). As per our custom, he and...

Re: More Stuff

I got a job interview on Monday, for a position as a forklift driver. Hopefully I get the job, but I'm not too sure about my chances, given that I haven't operated such a lift in about four and a half years. Hopefully, it's just like riding a bicycle... you never forget. Good luck! We expect a full...

Well, I just got an email from my church, and they are suspending our Sunday morning meetings until further notice, as per the government's recommendation to not hold gatherings of 250 people or more.

Funny you should mention that... It just happens that I've been thinking on the possibility of getting a Pi to use as a NAS, what with 8TB external USB 3.0 drives going for less than $200... Meanwhile, I followed your links, then some other links, until I reached this: ToP 10 Raspberry Pi Projects 2...

Update: Only one cheese left. The bries were amazing, the havartis were creamy goodness, the gouda was smoky spicy delight, and the cranberry goat cheese was like dessert, but better. Also, you guys have a painful sense of humor. At this point, I'm guessing that the Pun Jar is getting pretty cheese...
