Re: Happy Holidays 2020 2020-12-23
Fun fact, Georgette is wearing one of Monica’s dresses. Nah, it would be looser across the chest. Well, I dare say that Georgette seems to be suffering from Wapsicus Pinupitis , right now... Either that, or she has started putting on some weight, since moving in with Monica... She got stung by a be...

Whelp, the only limitations regarding the server is he/she cannot be related to the served, I figure I would fulfill that role. Richard (the miscreant's name) and I have had an... encounter... before, so I am no anticipating any trouble. At most I might request a civil standby, which I am not oblige...

185,870 from here. And considering that Arizona's death total from COVID just hit 5,000 on Saturday, I'd ask you to double check your sources. From the CDC themselves- they essentially were ruling ANY death where COVID was present as a 'COVID DEATH', even when the cause of death was other than COVID.

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)
Has anybody noticed that the recent CDC numbers indicate that the actual covid deaths in this country is 9K, not 170K? Just thought I'd ask... the big media isn't covering it very well... let me know if this stirs a memory for you...

Re: March 12, 2020 (aka COVID-19 thread)
I have found out that a LARGE number of "COVID" infections are being treated with Erythromycin- an anti-biotic, that has no effect on a virus. Seems that a LARGE number of people who are wearing masks for the first time don't understand that if you DON'T change or wash the damn thing every two hours...

Re: British cider strongbow
Concentrating cider by freezing is traditional, but I've heard that it's risky because it also concentrates the congeners that are discarded with the heads and tails in distillation. Generally speaking, Congeners in apple Cider are not near as concentrated as in red wine or rum- and they significan...

Bare in mind- there are very few forms of alcohol I have not made. Some of my creations are still talked about in certain circles, particularly my family recipe for corn. Sadly, as a recovering alcoholic I no longer make the stuff- but I can tell you a few tricks about it. Been sober since December ...

Re: British cider strongbow
Good point, Sarge! I wonder what the dividing line is between hard cider and apple wine? Technically, any "Hard Cider" is alcoholic- traditional Christmas "Mulled Ciders" can be either non-alcoholic or a mix of apple juice and "Jack" leavings (2-5% ETOH). Traditionally, it will clock in anywhere fr...

Re: British cider strongbow
One thing to remember is American Cider is basically an apple juice. British (European) Cider is a fermented product on par with beer, including the Alcohol. Beware and be wary! It WILL knock you on your ass in short order it you let it! Oh, there's Strongbow, Woodpecker, Woodchuck, Angry Orchard ....

Re: British cider strongbow
You have to remember that the sugars in the juice will be converted to alcohol and CO2- therefore if you start with sweet apples, you will have a cider devoid of flavor.
