Re: It is done

I remember Graham Kerr doing a version of that joke on Galloping Gourmet (late '60s). I think it was the Russian/Polish border.

I read The Whiteboard (and the Tinker's Guild forum, which is way crazier than the strip), QC, Girl Genius, and a whole bunch of others.

Yesterday I rode my bike downtown to the farmer's market, and discovered I had no keys. Zipped back home; they were in the lock on the front door. House door to market door is only about 0.75 mile in a straight line, so did not take long, and I got a little bonus exercise. It has been warm here, tho...

I've been working remotely since 2015. Planning to stick with the job another 19 months, unless it goes south sooner, times being how they are.

Yeah,my sleep cycle's been erratic the past few years,

Lately I'm sleeping more but waking up tired. After years of midnight alertness and running on short sleep.

I about drowned.

I grew up in a coal-mining county, and a lot of people still heat with coal out there. One time when I was about 14, everyone else was away, and I thought the furnace had gone out. We had a gas barrel, so I thought I'd use a little gas rather than screw around with kindling and everything. Well, the...

We lucked out here. Only 3 inches of snow with rain at the end. I didn't have to shovel at all. Brother and I were at our old place in the Alleghenies for the weekend, left Sunday morning ahead of the front. Half the eastbound traffic on the PA Turnpike was electric utility service trucks. Never see...

Glad I looked in! Man, that looks like fun. Have not been to Colorado/New Mexico in more than 25 years now. All my road trips through there were memorable. Eastern mountains are a lot lower, and I never had a lot of wind even at peak fitness, so I can appreciate hiking at 12,000 feet. I always notic...
