Re: On current events... (Hot button topic - Kavanaugh Confirmations)

Couple of things before I leave the forum. 1) I don't particularly think it was appropriate to start this topic in the first place. The topic is a highly politicized case involving a very ugly topic which needs to be taken seriously instead of sensationally. This is a person's life being dramaticall...

Oh, hey, Bookworm... Authorized For URL's looks like it could help keep down the spam, by requiring authorization to post URL's.

A young pig tried to become a witch by donning an appropriate hat. Unfortunately, it didn't work. All it did was make her a Ham Sham-Witch.

And I wouldn't know a regex if it handed me a pint of ale and dropped its pants. Treasure your ignorance. There's a saying, in my business. A programmer who says "Oh, I've got a problem here. The solution is to use a regex" now has two problems. At a minimum, two problems. Start...

I think I've figured out how to at least reduce the number of scam calls heading my way.

I answer the phone "Duey, Cheatum, and Howe. Where may I direct your call?" You'd be surprised how fast they hang up...

Yea, this was in the 90's, so it would probably be more like 25ish years ago.

I'd also suggest Laputa: Castle in the Sky. It was the first Miyazaki offering I encountered. I purchased a copy (it was certainly a bootleg, I know better now, but early-teens me didn't) at a convention I was working at. Heh. Depending on where that con was, you might we'll have bought it from a f...

*shudders* Washing machine-sized drives that wobbled like washing machines. *shakes head* Not just wobbling either. You're used to a drive booting up without making any noise. I almost wonder if my drive has gone dead sometimes because it doesn't make that noise, because I grew up with it. Then aga...

In Bob Asprin's Phule's Company (the beginning of the series), Phule is an ultra-wealthy individual, probably one of the top dozen or so most wealthy individuals in a multi-system galactic civilization. He has a device he calls a 'port-a-brain' which can be used to remotely do research and contact c...

WOW! I just found out that GoComics is hosting the whole (?) run of Peanuts comics from the start! (I have to admit, it's amusing to see the date below the first comic, seeing as it's much, much older than the internet, let alone the GoComics site...) My favorite tribute... https://i.pinimg.com/736...

Yea, you probably just got the rest of what was left of the tropical depression that blew through here last week. Followed I-10 all the way your way. (Ah, sorry, but as this is a young teen comic, I would prefer to avoid anything sexual outside of private messages. You are all welcome to do what you do, but I know the comic started as Y12, so I'd prefer not to sully that. I may disagree with some of the plot turns (not due to personal belief) bu...

Speaking of the actual Gulf of Mexico and tropical storms, there's some TD over the Yucatan Peninsula right now. Not really expected to form up into anything serious, but should dump rain all over the coast.
